Notch Fatigue Life Prediction Model Considering Stress Gradient Influence Depth and Weight Function

چکیده
Notch characteristics significantly affect the fatigue performance of engineered components, for which stress gradient effect is worth careful consideration. The traditional analysis method based on Coffin–Manson equation does not take into account influence range regarding definition correction factor, nor high-stress region, has a greater life. To address aforementioned problems, new notch life model proposed in this paper. First, stress–strain field at root analyzed to define depth influence, following low-stress region reduced by weighting function calculation factor. Finally, validate method, three sets experimental data, including TC4, GH4169, and EN8B, were used compared with other models. results demonstrate that predicted lifetimes are all within 2-fold dispersion band, prediction ability better than

Remaining Fatigue Life Predictions Considering Load and Model Parameters Uncertainty
Fatigue-driven damage propagation is one of the most unpredictable failure mechanisms for a large variety of mechanical and structural systems subjected to cyclic and/or random operational loads during their service life. Therefore, monitoring the critical components of these systems, assessing their structural integrity, recursively predicting their remaining fatigue life (RFL), and providing ...
متن کاملA Model of BGA Thermal Fatigue Life Prediction Considering Load Sequence Effects
Accurate testing history data is necessary for all fatigue life prediction approaches, but such data is always deficient especially for the microelectronic devices. Additionally, the sequence of the individual load cycle plays an important role in physical fatigue damage. However, most of the existing models based on the linear damage accumulation rule ignore the sequence effects. This paper pr...
متن کاملA Modified Nonlinear Damage Accumulation Model for Fatigue Life Prediction Considering Load Interaction Effects
Many structures are subjected to variable amplitude loading in engineering practice. The foundation of fatigue life prediction under variable amplitude loading is how to deal with the fatigue damage accumulation. A nonlinear fatigue damage accumulation model to consider the effects of load sequences was proposed in earlier literature, but the model cannot consider the load interaction effects, ...
متن کاملInfluence of Residual Stress on Fatigue Life of Hot Forged and Shot Blasted Steel Components
Hot forging is a common manufacturing process for the production of large quantities of engineering components. Residual stresses are developed in forged components as a result of various aspects of the manufacturing process, including subsequent cooling, and heat treatment. Residual stresses can significantly affect the deformation and fatigue failure of materials. Hot forged EN15R steel bars ...
